Kimberly Singletary receives NCA Dissertation Award

The National Communication Association (NCA) has selected Dr. Kimberly Singletary, who served as a visiting lecturer in  Germanic Studies last year, as one of the 2014 recipients of the NCA Gerald R. Miller Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award.

The award is given annually to recognize new scholars who completed outstanding dissertations during the previous academic year. Dr. Singletary was recognized for her dissertation, completed at Northwestern University, entitled “Blackness Personified: Images of U.S. Blackness in Contemporary German Public Culture.”

Dr. Singletary will be presented with her award during our 100th Annual Convention November 21-23 in Chicago.
