Oluwayemisi Odidiomo is an MA Student in the Department of Germanic Studies at the University of Illinois, Chicago. She has an M.Sc. in Gender and Development from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife with a thesis on “The Study of Self-Objectification of Women's Sexuality in Contemporary Nigerian Hip Hop Music”. Before her arrival at UIC, she was a co-founder and the pioneer director of Deutsches Haus in Ile-Ife, a Nigerian German Cultural Initiative. She is a German teacher with years of experience.
Her research interests are in self- objectification and the “new woman” in German film, modernism, modernity, and German Weimar culture.
