Join us when the creators, actors, and real-life figure behind the story of “SAM – A SAXON” come to UIC’s campus to speak with students about the show's representation of German history, the groundbreaking impact the show has had on the Afro-German and Black communities – and the opportunities the show has created for underrepresented and underserved voices in Europe’s entertainment industry. The event will be in English. All are welcome!

This event is part of an educational tour initiated by the Black German Heritage and Research Association (BGHRA) in collaboration with the German Embassy, and Fremantle-backed Big Window Productions, in partnership with and the Goethe-Institut Chicago, DePaul University, the University of Chicago, and Northwestern University. It is generously co-sponsored by the UIC Minor in Moving Image Arts, UIC School of Literatures, Cultural Studies and Linguistics, UIC English, UIC Institute for the Humanities, UIC Black Studies, UIC School of Theater and Music, UIC Honors College, UIC History, and the UIC Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy.
