The Goethe Institute will host a presentation by Anne Thomas, the international coordinator for Gunter Demnig’s Stolperstein project. She “will provide insights into how what began as a one-off conceptual art exhibition to mark the 50th anniversary of the deportation of 1000 Roma and Sinti from Cologne has developed into the world’s largest decentralised monument.”

This event is in English, open to the public, and free.

It has been co-organized by Dr. Sara Hall (UIC, Germanic Studies) and Dr. Peter Cole (Western Illinois University, History).
