“Hope in My Heart: The May Ayim Story”
One of the founders of the Afro-German movement, May Ayim was a poet and activist whose outspokenness about racial injustice in Germany was a welcome voice of reason for many Germans of all colors. Come to a thirty minute screening of this film and stay for a discussion with Dr. Kimberly Alecia Singletary about May Ayim’s use of the written word to effect change
Sponsored by UIC Department of Germanic Studies and Moving Image Arts Minor Program.
