Germanic Studies PhD alum Sharon Weiner wins Max Kade Prize for Best Article in the Journal of Austrian Studies

Sharon Weiner, a 2017 PhD in Germanic Studies from UIC and current lecturer in German at Baylor University, has won the 2020 Max Kade Prize for Best Article in The Journal of Austrian Studies for "The Beetle in Pain: Private Trauma in Ingeborg Bachmann's Malina".

This prize is awarded at the annual conference of the Austrian Studies Association. The winner of the $1500 award is identified from among the articles published in the journal that year, based on a poll of the editorial board.
